Freelin-Wade uses two different classes of polyethylene for their tubing: Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE). The difference between the two is that LDPE is more flexible while LLDPE has superior environmental stress crack resistance.
PE-2000 LLDPE’s greatest advantage over low density polyethylene is its superior environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR), withstanding 500 hours exposure to IGEPAL solution per ASTM D-1693 ESCR tests. Environmental stresses that can shorten the service life of tubing include: chemical exposure, aging, ultraviolet light, connection to barb-type fittings, or high vibration connections with compression fittings. All colors except red comply with FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.1520 (c) 3.2(a) for food contact applications.
Features:
